Papillon: the compact, eco-friendly wooden house

The Papillon is a true compact and innovative wooden house! It accommodates 4 beds in two distinct spaces. Its façades and layout have been designed to create a bright, pleasant interior with low energy consumption — a real ecological and economical plus!

Thanks to its 11 windows and large openings on all sides, this modern flat-roof wooden house with mezzanine is extremely luminous. Even at night, you can observe the starry sky from all four sides! A generous ceiling height gives a true sense of space.

The flat-roof wooden construction Papillon features a 10 m² mezzanine — ideal for a comfortable, spacious bedroom — a ground-floor living area of over 12 m², including lounge, dining and kitchen space, plus a 4.2 m² bathroom. All this gives nearly 30 m² without requiring a building permit.

A traditional house feel in a small footprint

This outbuilding’s layout is optimized to offer all the comfort of a traditional house in a compact space. Enjoy a wood-rich interior bringing you back to the essentials, with low energy use thanks to natural, efficient insulation. The living space of 17 m² on the ground floor and 13 m² mezzanine makes Papillon a blend of garden studio and Tiny House without taking up excessive space.

Installation is simple, quick, and requires no building permit!

Additional option: a second independent mezzanine bedroom—ideal for children or guests.

Materials used:
- Spruce cladding (FSC/PEFC certified), natural protection, durable
- Wood-wool + glass-wool insulation, German-made rain‑ and vapour-barriers
- Flat steel roof

Easy installation: delivered and mounted in our workshop, then placed on blocks or pylons; no foundations needed. Can be relocated later by crane and truck.

Ecological commitment: planting 20 trees in France for each Papillon built. Quadrapol funds this to move toward carbon neutrality.

Loft Papillon offers 30 m² for up to 4 people — perfect for year-round living, vacations, or rental. Also available in turnkey version with custom plans.

Delivery: 3–4 months production + transport included.

Papillon launched in 2014 by Quadrapol’s wood‑structure specialists, marrying design with functionality and ecological materials. Today it offers a well‑insulated, autonomous habitat that challenges passive houses, with limited heating needs and low energy bills.
